Conference Objectives and Expected Outcomes

The Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System (ReSAKSS) supports efforts to promote evidence-based policy planning and implementation as part of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP). In particular, ReSAKSS provides data and knowledge products to facilitate CAADP benchmarking, review, and mutual learning.

Strengthening Capacities for Evidence-based Policy Planning and Implementation in Africa: IFPRI’s Support to CAADP in 2015-2016

This report highlights achievements made in 2015 and the first half of 2016 by IFPRI and its partners in support of the CAADP implementation agenda through ReSAKSS and the AGRODEP Modeling Consortium.

ReSAKSS Annual Trends and Outlook Reports (ATORs)

ReSAKSS helps to inform the CAADP implementation process through its flagship Annual Trends and Outlook Reports (ATORs). The Africawide ATOR, which serves as the official CAADP M&E report, tracks progress on over 30 key CAADP indicators.

Country SAKSS and Capacity Needs Assessments

With an eye to building institutional and technical capacity, ReSAKSS works with the CAADP teams to set up or strengthen country Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support Systems (country SAKSS) rooted in the existing local capacities and infrastructure. The country SAKSS is a critical instrument for supporting the review of and dialogue on CAADP implementation at the country level.

Mutual Accountability and Agriculture Joint Sector Reviews (JSRs)

One of the guiding principles of CAADP is mutual accountability. At the country level, the agriculture Joint Sector Reviews (JSRs) are a key instrument for realizing this accountability and for implementing the CAADP Results Framework.

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC), is convening the 2016 ReSAKSS Annual Conference to promote review and dialogue on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) implementation agenda among state and nonstate actors.
