El Hadji Momar Thiam is the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager of the National Council for Nutrition Development (CNDN – Conseil National de Développement de la Nutrition) in Senegal. The CNDN is in charge of coordinating nutrition in Senegal through strategic missions (policy making, implementation and tracking) and operational missions (implementation of a portfolio of projects and programs with specific and sensitive interventions).
Mr. Thiam is specialized in community organization, project management and monitoring and evaluation. After a long experience in managing operational aspects from 1999 to 2013, he has been in charge of the monitoring and evaluating strategic and operational aspects at the CNDN since 2013. In this capacity, he follows the implementation of the Multisectoral Strategic Plan for Nutrition in Senegal, which includes the sectorial Action Plans of 12 ministries and a portfolio of projects funded by the State of Senegal and its technical and financial partners.
As Head of Monitoring and Evaluation at the CNDN, Mr. Thiam is also in charge of supervising and monitoring studies and surveys initiated by the CNDN and supporting the nutrition component of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) implemented by the National Agency of Statistics and Demography.
Since October 2021, Mr. Thiam has joined the Executive Committee of the SUN project as deputy M&E and Learning expert.
